Default How do I remove the trunk lid panel

Is there a special tool for removing those black buttons that hold the trunk lid panel and if there is what is it called and where do I buy one.

Thanks
Ejoe

If you are referring to the ones on the inside of the trunk, all you need is a phillips head screwdriver and to give it a quarter turn counter-clockwise. After that they will pop right out.

Gee the ones in my 98 es300 don't have a slot for a phillips screw driver. Looks more like you would need a special tool to remove them. The one's with the phillips slot are just where the tail light bulbs are.

In the Lexus service manual, they have a special 'clip remover' to remove the clips. or, you can use 1 (or 2, which might be easier) to pry the clips out.
