Strut Problem on 97 Es 300 What should I do?
Hi everyone,
Well, I have also suffered from the noisy strut problem that appears to be quite common on ES models. After doing a lot of reasearch I discovered that the strut mounts and bushings are the likely problem to the annoying rattle/bump sound so I bought all the genuine parts and booked my car in yesterday for my mechanic to do. (i have posted other replies to this issue before)
I just got a call from my mechanic to say that one of my front struts is leaking and the other one is questionable as well. (I trust my mechanic - he showed me the struts) so now I have to replace both front stuts as well.
I want to stick with the genuine Lexus/Toyota Struts, so I called a local parts supplier that I usually go through (cheaper than going to a dealer) and he tells me both front struts will cost $1,300 AUST for the pair!!
I looked up the same parts at Hoy-Lex in the USA where I have bought parts from before (they are great - they sell all genuine Lexus and Toyota parts) and their price is only about $134 US per strut!! I tried to send an order but because I live in AUSTRALIA and the parts are heavy, they tell me that they won't ship them to me via UPS post or via any other means!
WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Look what I found. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-G...spagenameZWDVW
You can thank me when you find some nice used JDM corners at a good price. Oh and yes they do ship to AU or I wouldn't be posting and this is with a drop too.

Can't believe some places won't ship them when they advertise that they ship world wide:
The search continues I guess, I just cant justify spending $1000 - $1300 Australian when they are only $130 in the US!
Still trying to source some cheaper JDM corners.
