Better you stay away from the GS wheels. They are real wheel drive and will require the use of spacers ( not recommended) to clear the struts due to offsets.

GS wheels are fine. Spacers are fine as long as you get extended lugs. All other Lexus cars except the ES and RX are RWD or AWD. Just make sure you don't buy a staggered fitment.

ChrisES,

They are not fine. I had a set of 5 star GS chrome wheels to be put on my O1 ES and I need spacers for the front and rear wheels. Way too much trouble to mount on the car. I had 5mm spacers on the rears and they still wouldn't clear the struts + the lugnuts were barely threaded on. I did not want to get longer studs or spend more money on spacer lugs. The wheels were 17x8 with a 50mm offset. They sat in way too deep.

Look I have is350 18's on my es. In order to do so I had to replace my studs with longer ones. Also they are staggered and I have had no problems. So gs wheels will fit but will need longer studs and spacers like mine. Now if you want nice easy to put on rims go with is300 rims lots of guys here have them.

I just got 16" GS 5 spokes with 245/45/16 tires on them and planning to install them on my 97 ES300. Can someone tell me what sort of spacers I need for clearance for the rear?

Thanks!

Don't forget your local craigslist posts. I found is300 wheels with brand new tires for $400 and last week someone posted up chrome is300 rims with ok tires for $200 bucks.

I have 15"s when I got the 97 ES300. Looking to replace the rims and I found someone selling GS rims with the 245/50/16 tires so I wanted to know if anyone out there knows about fitment.

What kind of tires did you have? What size spacers did you use?
