Advice needed on DIY Valve Cover Gasket Replacement
I searched the old threads but did not really see any detailed DIY on this topic.
I am trying to get the courage to change the gasket myself but I have a few concerns.
1. Is the job too difficult for a person of limited skill?
I have done the IACV cleaning but nothing too involved.
2. Cleaning and removing the old gasket.
Is there any special tools and cleaners needed for this?
3. Installing the new gasket.
Do I need any special sealant? If so what kind?
4. If anyone has any good do's and don'ts, I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance.

nope, it simlply adds removing 8 or so 10mm bolts to taking the upper intake manifold off. nothing to it. have some ultra black RTV handy to seal the specified joints going over the cam bearing cap tho.

From what I read so far the front Valve cover is pretty easy to do, the rear is the pain in the @$$.
I currently have 234K miles on my car and I am noticing a knocking/pinging sounds when I start to accelerate. It's even more noticeable when the AC is on. I suspect that my valves may need adjusting.
Should I do a valve adjustment while I am in there at the same time?
If so, what do I need to do?
Sorry for asking so many questions but I really want to do this job right.
