Bad idea to paint calipers?
#2
Not at all. I've always thought it's a pretty cool mod. Just buy a good kit (the Duplicolor ones are a great value) and follow the instructions...specifically you'll want to clean the calipers well and allow the paint to cure as long as possible prior to driving the car. I painted the calipers on my old SUV with the Duplicolor kit and loved the look. After three years they still looked great.

I think if you do it right it looks pretty good. I did mine not too long ago just to make it look a little cleaner. Dont want a nice clean car, nice wheels and crappy calipers. Not a good pic but just to get an ideal.

I just painted mine silver last week. They look really clean and blend in nicely with my chrome wheels.
Why paint them? Mine were rusted up to the point of looking like they were painted that color. Made my car look very cheap until they got some new color.

Black keeps it clean looking. Not a big silver fan. Red really is just standard nowadays, but still works for me. White is nice with black lettering. You can always match your paint as well; gives it a nice accent.

So i just finished the brakes... They look really nice. I'll have pics up after i take some well deserved sleep. For now, its good. I took it for a test run and now im gettin a little bit of a "wooo-wooo-wooo" sound round corners. Maybe the nuts are too loose?
