Default Lexus ES 300 battery installation

Just had a new battery installed in my 2003 lexus 300 and the car keeps cutting off and will not stay idle. I have never had problems before. Is there something else that should have been done instead of a standard installation?

Keep driving it. The PCM will "relearn" the idle and everything else.

Did you have the alternator tested? Also, I have seen the WRONG batteries installed in cars where the hood actually shorts out the battery! The insulation on the back side of the hood is just enough resistance to discharge the battery and short it out. Easy check for that is to start it with the hood up. Also check that the mass air flow sensor plug is not disconnected! And other plugs and vacuum hoses too... Common with battery replacements. Good luck!

check your negative wire... theres a possibility that your negative wire is not probably tight on...

but seems to me that if it doesn't stay idle after cranking... then theres a possibility that it can be your alternator.

The positive terminal has a plastic cover over it, so that is not an issue...
The engine will not start w/out the MAF plugged in.

i unconnected and reconnected the battery and i found that my oil was a quart low. i replaced the oil and the car is now running fine again. i thought that to be weird but i'm glad it's working now.
