My 90 es250 had 80k on the car and the motor we put in had 40k on it.

That's odd.. I have 91 Camry V6 as well and it's still running strong (even after 3 accidents, no engine damage).. What it really needs now is new shocks and some sound dampening (which will probably cost more than the car is worth )

Cool

Alittle odd to me too. They're not particularly great engines, and they do use parts alittle weaker than what replaced it, but IDK of any real problem with them.
Hell boy in my welding class has a 2vz-fe gen2 Camry with 220m on it. Now it leaks like a mother out both the main seals (i replaced both VCG's for him laast month), but it runs fine. lol!

Fuel economy wasn't the best, but let's face it. It's got low CR pistons, and the worst v6 exhaust design ever (the the easyest to slap a turbo on...), no o2 sensors, knock sensors (until late in production), and they run alittle rich.

But they're not bad LoL! I will always maintain that a 2vz-fe M/T gen2 Camry / ES 250 could easily be made into the fastest examples of their platform for the minimum amount of work & money. Without taking anything off them both are like roughly 400lbs lighter than the nearest equivilant later generation LoL!
220 N/A hp, or about 200v FI on that chassis would smoke even a new ES 350/Camry SE. LoL!

Struts, springs & mounts are always expencive, but not unexpected. They only last about 10 years'ish for anything. Sound dampening, roofing tar backing man. Cheap as sin LoL!

Hmmm so how much would a motor off an es250 be with with 40k on it? And how could you possibly make that lil 2.5 liter go fast?

Fix the exhaust if you're N/A, otherwise do the exact same thing I've done several times (and others) on the old 3.0L SOHC trucks. It uses a crossover pipe & has 240-280hp worth of fuel with a good regulator and a pump. Also has a dizzy to control base ignition timing. Not perfect, but good enough for lower power levels.
Nothing more than move the oil filter, throw a junkyard $100 turbo off the front bank & go from there. Doesn't have to be a big turbo. Worthless $25 junkyard T3 with a rebuild would make 250 on that engine.
The engines? Ah man they're worthless. Couple hundred bucks at best. You can also swap the engine with any of the other 2-3.3L v6 engines without much work. The easyest would be the 3.0L 3vz-fe or the 2.5L 4vz-fe tho b/c of the easier wiring, etc.

Seriously, someone with the ability to weld, and the wanting desire to do it could make a very simple 200bhp turbo on that engine for $500 tops.

Or you can do a 3s-gte swap... I'm not a fan of, the v6's are faster for less money.

Start a new thread about this project and keep us updated on how it goes. Pics would be awesome too.
And welcome to the forum!

I have all the parts you would ever need for an 90 es250 if you need anything. I'll sell ya my motor if you like it only has 40k on it.
