Denso or NGK. Iridiums. Platinum is good enough.

Stock are platinum tipped... which is already good. Iridium is for serious tuning.

OEM Denso Dual Tipped Platinums are good plugs. If you want to go Iridium, you can go for the OEM Denso Iridium SK20 plugs, not to be confused with the Denso Hi Power IK20 that doesn't las as long. Denso=NGK. Both plug brands are OE for Toyota/Lexus.

I concur.

If you are going to keep your vehicle stock performance wise, follow flipside's advice. The IX's are not bad plugs either, but you won't notice much difference.

Cool

**** that.
$1.50 copper NGK, or Denso plugs. They last as long as the plats, but cost $1.50.
Iridiums are a joke. To start with, noone would ever go 90-120,000 miles without changing the plugs. Secondly, you can change all your plugs for the typical price of one iridium plug. Not good.

Who said Original Iridium didn't last 120k mi?

I just change plugs on my "newly acquired" 99 ES300 with 120k mi. Guess what? Original plugs. Tips are about 50% worn down.

I got new iridium at Kragen for $6.99 x 6 -25%. Much better response now!

Plus, it is not fun to spend 1-1/2 hr to change the back plugs!

Cool

It's not tip wear lasting super long, it's a spark quality. What sparks better your 60,000-120,000 mile old spark plug, or a brand new copper one?

Any new plug is better than any old plug.

Cool

None of them are going to change performance or economy.
A good plug is a good plug, and you're still going to want to change them inside of 6 years regardless of what you buy - so I see no reason to pay 6x+ the amount of money for iridium plugs.
