Default Better Range With Remote?

I have a 98 ES does anyone know how to increase the range on the remote mine is real bad. I even ordered a new remote from the dealer and its still the same. I also replaced both batteries. Other car remotes seem alot more powerful.
Any Tips?

Also does anyone know also is my remote supposed to look like a Toyota Camry remote. I noticed most Lexus's have fob were the key is stuck with the remote. Can I upgrade will that give me better range? Though my remote has the Lexus logo on the back other than that it looks the same and seems to have worse range then Camry remotes.

Thanks

I have the same exact problem with my remote for my 2001 ES300. My remote only works from about 25 feet away

My remote for my '92 only works when I'm right next to the car - and then only 95% of the time.

Even with fresh batteries, my remote is pretty much the same - but maybe a 10-15 feet away, at best.

Stick the remote under your chin and you should get better range. Make sure your batteries are strong.

Otherwise wear a hat made out of aluminum foil or carry a "dish".

'99 ES and I pretty much have to be right next to the car for it to work. I felt like the range was much better when I bought it new though. Fresh batteries didn't increase it that much.

I really wish there was a mod to improve this.

If you look in the owners manual (at least for 92-96 es300's) it says that the remote works best within a couple meters of the car.

Update:

I just did the mod to my remote and it increased the range significantly. It reaches from about 40-50 ft away, as opposed to about 10 ft before. The range may even be increased w/ new batteries.

I replaced the batteries in my remote and can easily work my remote from 43 yards using the "chin method". (I paced off the distance). Any farther and I probably couldn't tell you if the lights blinked on or off.
