Looks like my ES 300, just in way better shape!!!

Flush the fluids the day you get it so you know it's done.
Take the valve cover's off & look. Just search for a post with directiosn on how to do it with a quart of diesel fuel in 10 minutes & then change your oil.

Run the engine until warm.
Pull the upper intake manifold off.
Pull the plugs.
Pull the EFI fuse.
Put the compression gauge in each cylinder & turn the engine over atleast 7 strokes. Watch that the needle builds consistant pressure.

Write down the psi each cylinder has & bring it back to us. or get a mechanic to do it. Just bring us back the numbers.

Do I get the compression figures after I've taken the car home? Or at the seller's?

Nevertheless, I plan on getting a mechanic to check it before I buy it.

Get the mechanic to check the compression, transmissin fluid, coolant, and oil before you buy it.

The valve cover gaskets will probably be leaking. Just sorta what al valve cover gaskets ever made do after 10 years. Not a big deal. And if/when you change them after u buy it. You get too see if the engine has any oil build-up at all.

I'm tellin ya check for body damage my father owns a dealership and i have bought countless cars at auctions before which is most likely where your guy got the car from run your finger along the edges of the doors, trunk and hood of the car. If you feel a bump or grove during this it means its was painted most likely from body damage and you do not want a car that has been in an accident . I don't know if you have carfax there but if you do i would request one to see the vehicles history.
