2000 ES300 vs 2006 Scion TC
heres the thing, some guy at my school has a scion tc and thinks he drives a ferrari....anyway i said ill take him like nothing with my es..he said "no way ur car is too heavy and underpowered" (i blew up and challenged him to a race for 200 bucks....im pretty sure ill take him w/o a problem...his car is a 2006 with 17k on it and it has a trd exhaust...my ES has 59k and runs on m1 synthetic ..what u guys think?

"Overweight" is more like it versus "underpowered". It'd be close but I'd honestly have to pick the Scion... I lost to one in the past. Of course, that was before I replaced the air filter and MAF... hmm

M/T tC's run a 6.9s 0-60mph, 15.1s 1/4mile time.
The only non ES 350 even remotely close to being that fast would be a 92-93 3vz-fe Manual, and it would need mild modifications.
Your 2000 ES runs 0-60 in 8.2s, low 16's in the 1/4 mile.
It's reeeeeal easy math.
He's going to wax your ***. You better get one ebay & buy a wet n2o kit, or hope he completely misses a shift. He'd still kill you granny shifting...

Going to cost you about $500 by the time you buy a wet kit, ship it & fill the tank with n2o.
Run a 75 wet shot 6" infront of the throttle plate. Still probably won't run a mid 14 second 1/4 mile time & rub it in. In actuality, you'd be running with him at that point... You'd run away fm him on a longer race, but i digress.
Hope for a mis-shift & wheel spin/hop, because you're going to easily be out $200. Next time don't shoot your mouth off so quick!
Maybe McElligott would let you rent one of his spare systems for like $100-200 bucks?
btw people that like racing, know this site by heart.

Or atleast know their own 0-60 & 1/4 mile times & relatively how fast most other cars are. (Yours are not on there, but still)

Maaaaan sucks to be you LoL!
25psi front tire pressure, 40psi rear tire pressure & don't drive alot with the front tires so low.
Probably going to want to clean the intake up alot. Bust out your cats if you can, or make some test pipes.
Drop all weight you possibly can....

Sorry, but m/t tcs arent that fast. Those numbers you posted are for the trd supercharged scion tc.
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108776 .
quote from that article
After a few more runs down the drag strip, we nail the launch and click off a 7.2-second 0-to-60 time and a 15.1-second quarter-mile. Solid times that are identical to the numbers we ran in the Civic Si. With a limited-slip splitting up the torque, there's no doubt that the tC would be quicker, but as of right now, Scion doesn't offer one.
Like i said it will be a close race.

0-60 in 7.4, and the 1/4 in 15.7 at 88 (5 spd). Page two about half-way down the page. The Scion will beat the ES, but it's definitely not sub-seven-second car.

Those times seem close. If its a kid thats driving i doubt hell get a good time like that. However the 1/4 mile numbers are close and i still think the es will win at higher speeds.

I'd say go with pheonix and go with the wet no2 kit to assure your win and i agree those times look a little to fast for a scion. I have raced them on the highway and they seemed to fall back around 85 or so but maybe they just didn't feel like taking the corners that fast
