1999 es300 trans cold shifting issues
Hi everyone
I recently purchased a 1999 es300 w/70k on it and am havind a trani problem. When the car is cold 2nd to 3rd gear hangs and takes around 5 or 6 seconds to shift. I just had the fluid flushed last week but the dummy put in dexron 3 fluid. I later took it to toyota and had type 4 put in and noticed this problem.
There is also a slight delay sometimes from 1st to second. Once the car is warm it drives well and does not fall out of gear or slip. Could this be a computer issue or would it need a rebuild? I'm confused and need someone with transmission experience to help me please.
Thanks for your time all.

First of all, welcome to CL!
Regarding your tranny issue, I would give it some time for your car to get adapted since winter is here, and I know that our trannies take a little time to get warmed up to go through the normal shifting pattern. Hopefully no check engine light shows up but if it does, definitely get the error code(s) checked from Autozone or Advance Auto Parts and consider bringing the car in to a Lexus or Toyota dealer to get it checked out.

thanks
No check engine light came on. I figured the computer is a bit confused and the car drives fine once warmed up. Just wanted to make sure everything is ok. Thanks again for your time and hopefully I can help someone else with a problem
