Help - Load handling of stock alternator??
I was wondering would the stock alternator be able to handle a 1000watt class D mono amplifier and a 400watt multi channal amplifier? Right now i have a 750 watt class D mono amp powering 2 12" subwoofers and a 400 multi channal amplifier with a 1 farad capacitior. It seems to work fine but occasionally when im stopped and the music is bumping hard there is a loss in power. But If i was to upgrade to a denso 170 AMP alternator do you think i would have problems with a 1500 watt class D mono amp and 400 watt multichannal amp with a 2 farad capicitor powering 2 12" JL 12w7's and door speakers? Thanks

I'd say you'll most likely have to upgrade the alternator. I don't know the exact capacity, but I'm pretty sure the alternator is designed to handle what it has to and nothing else. My alternator has trouble keeping up in my car and I don't have anything aftermarket on it.
