Default 98 GS Wheels on 98 ES?

Oheyo all,

Longtime Supra owner here that just picked up a '98 ES300 as a daily driver. I would really like to upgrade the wheels to the 5-spoke 17's that were offered on the '98-99 GS models.

Will they fit properly? Does anyone have pics if they do.

Thanks alot!

Here is a pic

Congrats and nice pickup on your choice for a daily driver! Like Chris said, you will most likely need spacers to make the wheels fit properly. I have never seen a '97-'99 ES with GS400 wheels, but I have seen it on IS300 wheels. Even on stock suspension, they improve the look and stance of the ES. Good luck with your choice

No, I never got around to it but probably will come spring. Let me know if it works out for you and if spacers are needed.

I put 17" GS rims on my 92 ES and i needed to put spacers in the rear, so mostly likely on the 97-01 you will need spacers in the rear too.

I have those exact same wheels that I will be putting on this spring.

What size spacers did you end up using?

I had to put 1/4 inch spacers in the rear, the front were ok.

Yeah, the reason you will need spacers is offsets. You are putting RWD designed wheels on a FWD car. If you don't, you will see increased inside tire wear with the rear tires.
Lug pattern is the same.

it also hits the rear struts and the wheel doesn't fit if you don't put the spacer.
