Rear valve cover remoavel help UPDATE!! HELP !!!!
On my 95 ES300 I've managed to replace the front valve cover gasket easy as cake. After spending several hours a night for a week carefully removing and labeling all of the hoses, bolts, etc...necessary to remove the upper intake manifold, to do the rear valve cover gasket, I've come to a road block.
The thick black cable running over the rear valve cover gasket is blocking the removal of valve cover (green in picture). I don't see a way to removal this cable, it appears to be running throughout the entire car.
I know this is possible, and I am just not seeing it. Please shed some light...
Thank You

On the transmission side of the head is a stud that holds the harness, use a 10mm socket to remove the nut. You should be able to swing the harness towards the front of the car,use a bungee cord to hold it. Did you also unclip the harness from the timing belt cover?

OK still stuck. I removed a few more electircal clips that ran down the backside of the rear bank (along the firewall). I am now able to lift the thick wire management thingy 2 or 3 inches above the rear valve cover.
I've managed to remove 6 of the 8 bolts on the cover but 2 of them are hidden away behind the wire managment thingy.
The hose in red (see above pic) would definately give me more room if I was able to remove it. What substance passes thru this hose? Is it safe to disconnect? If yes, how do I remove it?
Any other tips guys? I'm getting close to leaving this job only half done with 6 spark plugs replaced, and only 1 valve cover gasket replaced....Everytime I walk in the garage I get pissed....
Thank You

G--99,
How-ya-doing on this.
I'm tearing into mine next weekend. I finally found a source for the intake gasket only at.

Everyone else around here carries only the complete set with exhaust manifold gaskets.
