I wanted to see how many miles i was getting per gallon so I filled up the es and started the trip miles well to my amazement I only got around 275 which is very low. I forgot to check how many gallons it takes to fill up I think its around 20-23 but damn this is way loowwww... does anyone know why this could be?

I filled up my tank the other day from almost totally empty, and it took a little over 14½ gallons. That tank got me about 300 miles of mostly city driving.. so a little over 20 MPG ain't too bad if you ask me. But it was premium gas, and I didn't use my a/c too heavily or drive very hard so I'm sure all that factored into it as well.

I use 92 octane, it makes a difference of about 2 mpg for me. I do mostly city/suburban driving and get 25 mpg regularly. If I am exta gentle it goes to 26 and when I'm rushing around, 24. I have found during hwy driving, there is a drop in economy when over 60 mph and really drops off over 75 mph. If you keep your tires at a higher pressure, 32 psi, it helps. My tank is 18 gal.

That ethanol cuts into the gas mileage. And the gas stations are getting ready to switch over to the "winter" blends.

I track my mileage closely and get between 18.5 MPG (summer blend w/ A/C running constantly) and 21.5 MPG (non-blend w/ NO A/C). I run 93 octane consistently.

I got 21mpg on my 00' ES300, Premium with 10% ethanol, mix of city and highway. Not that bad since you have all the comfort.

Mine is an '02 ES300. Is it possible that older model's design just get poorer fuel economy??? Perhaps new plugs, wires, cap, etc. are overdue for the folks driving older models.

I use 4 oz. the Lucas Fuel System Treatment (big bottle, not the little one) every time I fill up my gas tank. I drive a 93 ES300 with almost 200,000 miles on it and I checked my mileage yesterday when filling up 19.7! That's in the FL heat and I also floor it at every stop light, pretty much drive my car hard, with the ac on full....and 19.7 mpg! I was amazed, before I went on the treatment I would see maybe 17 mpg if I was lucky...

Why?? That's pretty immature if I might say so!

I have a 00 ES300 with 121k miles and I get decent mileage. I drive 90% highway miles, 120 miles a day, 6 days a week but I also sit in standstill traffic everyday (houston rush hour traffic is a nightmare!) I'm averaging about 24 to 25 miles a gallon. When I drive around the city, I get around 20 or 21 depending.

When I first got the car, I took a trip to Oklahoma from Houston and averaged 28mpg so I'm trying to figure out why my gas mileage is so low.
