Default LS430 rims on 97 ES should work right? & can some explain "offset"

OK I feel like a noob but I just saw a members ES300 on here with SC430 rims
I was always taught u can put RWD rims on FWD vehicles but u cannot put FWD rims on RWD
after seeing this I guess I was taught right

I had a chance to get the SC430 wheels for a decent price a while back, but everyone I asked said they wont fit because of the offset, I have done tons of rim swapping but I was always dealing with FWD cars so it was easy i never really had to deal with offest issues honestly Im still not 100% what the hell the offset is (& I own a used car dealership u'd think I know these things, this is why im feelin noobish) i think offset has something to do with the spacing but has never been explained to me.
someone can explain this later cuz im getting off the real topic

I have found (IMO) the deal of a lifetime 2005 LS430 factory CHROME 18" rims for $600!!! in mint condition with tires!!! (the five spoke ones that look like benz AMG wheels) guy just want them gone out his garage

If the SC430 rims fit then the LS430 rims should also someone please confirm or pics would be great

FYI Im goin to buy rims anyway if they dont fit imma eBay them because im sure they are worth more than that

My SC430 wheels fit my 99 Coach Ed. ES300 with no problems using 5/16" spacers on the rear wheels. I'm not sure of the factory offset of those LS430 wheels and you probably should get a 2nd opinion with those but I do know you can roll the SC430 wheels for sure on that 97 ES300 with no problems.

I'll give a shot at explaining offset the best I can, If I am mistaken please correct me.

Offset is the distance between the exact center width of the rim. Zero offset would be dead center in the middle. Positive offset which is just about all FWD has the rim pushed outwards away from the center. is needed to clear the brakes and assure no rub i believe. Anything going Negative offset would bring the rim inward, giving a deeper lip. Mainly RWD.

Hope my info helps.

I believe the ES can take between 38-45mm offset to assure no rub

I found the LS430 rims specs on ebay as follow. These should fit no Problem
Dont forget to post some pics!

WHEEL SPECIFICATIONS
Diameter: 18"
Width front/rear: 7.5"
Offset: 45 mm
Bolt pattern: 5 x 114.3
Finish: Triple Chrome Plate
