F*** Ground Loops
whats up fellas, i just installed my DVD player and 4 channel amp in my 95 ES300.
Im an ex installer for circuit city and best buy and i am at a loss of what to do about this situation.
I installed it, checked it, had a terrible whistling sound that increased with acceleration (for anyone who doesnt know what a ground loop sounds like). So i tore it all apart and re did it again, making sure no speaker wire or rcas were near any power lines (they are run on seperate sides). Anyways so then i changed my headunit and brain grounds to the same spot in the driver side kick panel at the factory ground; grounded the amps to a bolt in the body in the trunk(even scratched off all paint) and i still have the rediculous ground loop. Any one had any personal success wiith any ground loops in a 95 es300
Considering buying a ground loop isolater for my rcas but have not had much success with them in the past so i am skeptical.
Info PLEASE!!!!!

Max941- i just bought new JL Audio cables to check this out but i got the same result.... i though that could be it too.
Pheonix- I had my grounds( 1 from the 4 channel, 1 from the mono) running 4ga. to a distro block to O/1 gauge to my cap, then from the cap a 0/1 gauge to ground. I upgrade to an optima and bought all new terminals but havent upgraded the factory grounds. I have plenty of 4ga wire, im gonna make a grounding kit but i havent a clue where the grounds need to connect too. can anyone let me know where they are supposed to connect. I think one goes to the engine, one to the tranny, one to the altenator? anymore? oh yea and the battery to the frame(gonna use 0ga for that).
Anyone got any info?
Also, i disconnected my speakers from the 4 channel and ran them to the DVD player and they work perfect (no noise/interference) but i need more power than it has to give. so the engine noise is only comming from the aftermarket dvd playerRCA output or the Amp (it cant be picked up from the New Rcas, they arent run near anything and they are brand new). THese are the only things i can come up with if anyone had any new ideas
IM GONNA SHOOT MYSELF IN THE FACE!
