Default 20" RIMS QUESTION

I've finally decided to put 20's on my car after much debate. I have a 97 ES and I know that the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and the offset is 42, but my question is can other circle patterns such as 5x4.5 fit on there with different offsets such as 30. I was looking to purchase some rims off wheelwarehouse.com and they said that the pattern is pretty much the same and they can warranty a fit. WTF??? I don't understand how they can fit. I'm pretty clueless right now as to how this circle pattern will work. I don't know much about rims except that a set of camber kits can be used to correct the offset. Oh yea, I know there are alot of people that are haters for 20's on an ES so please let's not make this into another one of those "you shouldn't do that to your car" thing and keep the cynicism to a minimum. On that note, SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!!

IF you are going 20's on a 97...then the widest you would want them would be a 7.5

bolt pattern is 5x114.3 thats that.

as far as the offsets...........no camber kit fixis offsets. the offset is what determines how far in or how far out the actual wheel will fit. ( not the wheel barrel but the actual wheel design)

anything more than a +42 offset will most likley rub the strut tube.

I would stick to an offset in the 30's since it's going to be a straight 7.5 all around. that way you don't have any big rubbing issues.

on 20's you will need some fender modifications. no big deal...just some minor fender roll

5x114.3 is what ya got, no changing it
you def wanna go with a 225/35/20, thats what i have and i still have some minor rubbing. Not bad but its still there, also kiss having more than 3.5 ppl in the car while your driving
its worth the sacrafices tho, ill tell you that much

peace

I thought the bolt pattern was different, but actually 5x4.5 is basically the same as 5x114.3, but just in inches and it's close enough. I know a 7.5 is recommended and will be a much better and safer fit, but I'm gonna go with a 20x8.5 though, I want that extra inch in width; it makes a big difference look wise. I don't have to worry about rub, I got bags anyway.
