Does anyone know what type of battery the keyless entry key takes? Where can I get one for a good price?

My 1994 ES and 1993 LS both use CR 1216. I would expect that your 92 ES would use the same.

Radio Shack has them for about $3.00. Oftentimes, they will install the battery for you. If they won't, it's easy to do it yourself.

Thanks for the tip. Damn, I was just at Radio Shack this morning at like 5am to get a bluetooth headset. Guess I'm headed back there tomorrow morning.

i have a 2000 es300 and my keyless entry battery died, so i took it apart and i found a cr1616
would a cr1216 work maybe?
i found a couple of those at eckerd, but i havent gone to radioshack yet

I would bet that the CR 1216 would not fit if a CR 1616 was in it when you opened it.

I know that the CR 2016 (which is used in some Toyota and Lexus transmitters) is significantly larger than the CR 1216. My guess is that the CR 1616 is somewhere in between in size.

My keys have the door unlocking transmitter in the key itself. At some time along the way, Toyota went to the separate fob for the transmitter. The batteries in these fobs are larger than the batteries that are in the keys.

I believe that Radio Shack has all the various types.
