Cool

My bad, you're right on the coupe years. The only few I pay attention to have 3vz-fe's dropped into them. So I always figure through '93.

1mz-fe

3vz-fe

160lb-ft vs 162 lb-ft. big torque differance. I like how even bigger is the 150lb-ft at 2250rpm vs 150lb-ft at 3900rpm. You can see why the 1mz-fe's have better gas mileage. The spend most of their time in the general viscinity of 50%-30% the power!
That's 92 vs 94 on A/T's.

1MZ-FE 94-96 188@5200 203@4400
Revised intake in '97 and vvt
1MZ-FE 97- 210@5400 213@4400
1MZ-Fe with revised intake, w/o vvt
1MZ-FE 97- 194@5200 209@4400
VS
3VZ-FE 92-93 189@5200 199@4400
3VZ-FE 94- 200@5800 204@4600

You can get all of the peak power, and most of the 200-204 power curve of the 94+ 3vz's simply by adjusting the A/F mixture, and ignition timing. That's free. Takes less than 10 min to do either one.
Eh, I don't see the big deal about the 1mz's having OBD-II. They easily could have done that on any other engine. The 94-95 1mz-fe's are OBD-II computers, but not OBD-II compliant. They still use the older OBD-I DCL connectors. it wasn't fully compliant until '96. This is why you can take an early 1mz to Autozone to have the scans checked (It is OBD-II), but they can't check them.

The 3vz years. It was 92-93 in North America. Through '96 in Japan (Windom), and Australia. The Asian market Camry had it through the mid '97 year for what ever reason. Go figure.

Windoms used the 3vz-fe, sceptors used the 4vz-fe. That changed to the 1mz-fe, and 2mz-fe.
Vista's stuck to the i4's.
Whatever the Russian / Eastern Europe v6 Camry chasie is name is, it used the 4vz-fe, and 2mz-fe during the time frame.

Toysrme, Where are you getting these numbers from? They're incorrect.

VVT-i didn't come on the 1MZ-FE until 99 in the 99 ES300 or the 98 RX300 1MZ-FE.
97 1MZ-FE was rated at 194 hp and 2 hp less for CA emissions equipped 1MZ-FEs.
99 Solara and those ES models 97-98 non VVT-i were the same, 200 hp 214 fl/lb 198 & 212 for CA emissions models.

99 1MZ-FE VVT-i was 210hp for the ES and for the 2000 Avalon.

US/Canadian 3VZ-FE 92-93 was only rated at 185 hp and 195 ft/lb of torque. Don't really care about the 94+ 3VZ-FE since it was replaced w/the 1MZ-FE for North America.

i got a 92-5 speed... i just wish the throw wasnt so long. Also if i ever use the cup holder, shifting becomes a little annoying.

I have a 93 5 speed. I have the factory leather shift ****. I like the way that 1SICKLEX's looks. I think that the wood fits really nice.

Yep for the ES it's '93.
Tho the steps for converting an A/T Camry into an E-153 M/T using the different (but same baseic) E-153 M/T out of the MR2/Celica have been well documented.

You can also ****** a working E-153 from several Solara & a few late model Camry SE v6's. ('97)

i wouldnt recommend converting to a es300 to manual unless u wanna be special and have big plans for the car.

the manual transmission on this car is very very tame.......very smooth like a lexus should be......but its not a bit sporty........

if u wanna convert thinking it would be more fun......think again!

I enjoy owning a stick es300 cuz knowing that the car is rare makes me happy.

There isnt a big preformance difference between auto and manual like the hondas.

There were about 2000 manuals imported from 92-93. Manuals are supposed to be about 0.5-0.7 seconds faster to 60 and get a bit better gas mileage. I wish I could get mine to start. In good time i guess.

No emissions requirements such as cat convertor, etc. Really helps with the way I have built the turbo setup.

My only real complaint. I'm now having a major clutch issue though
