transmission clunk, is it a problem?-----UPDATEeeeee
UPDATE:
i have just got my dogbone changed at pedders for those of u who dont know theyre suspension specialist, anyway, i got my dogbone replaced and my car feels more solid, however, the clunking still exist, the dogbone appear to have "mayonaise" coming out of it, . errr.wtf
and it has plastic cover on both ends so i cant see inside, maybe they only "fixed up" the dogbone instead of putting a new one in, i cant tell whether its new or not. the "mayonaise" is coming out between the plastic and the metal seals
i have a 1995 es300 automatic (4 gears) about 125,000 miles or 190,000KM
the transmission shudders when shifting from 1st to 2nd, the car launches forward when the shifting is done, and i can hear and feel the clunk. its not too severe but definately noticeble, sometimes the clunk is almost nonexistant like when going downhill and it changes at 2200rpm.
when i press the accelerator, i can feel the pedal pushes back on me, "obviously ", but i feel the "push" decreases as the trans is about to shift(only from 1st to 2nd). And if i press the the accelerator just a little more(when its just about to shift, (1st to 2nd)), it instantly shifts with clunking, and then the pedal becomes normal (normal feel, no more "push decrease" for other gear changes, only 1st to 2nd..
another thing is when im in 3rd, say, around 2500rpm, and i let off of the accelerator suddenly, it instantly changes to 4th and goes down to around 1500rpm and i can hear the clunk, the sound and feel is there but i dont feel the car lunch foward as the gears change.
i have warrranty on the transmission and engine.
the transmission cover is up to $450 australian (about 350U.S)
the transmission specialist quoted me about 350australian but said 400 to be safe to fix this clunking problem, but said the warranty might not cover it as it might be caused by normal wear and tear.
i mean for a car that has done this much, is it normal for this kind of thing and should i just keep on driving it until the transmission *****s up and if so how long should i expect it to last.
thanks guys, soz about the long post

You asked the exact same thing on ToyotaNation. It's the dog bone mount. Replace it, or rebuild it with something like 3M's polyurathane window sealant.
Tube of that is around $13 USD. You loose the mount for two days while it cures (you cans till drive around, but it'll clunk around a ton) New dog-bone mounts are $20-40 USD.
Either way it's cheap. They slide in and out (sometimes they take some hard tugging) on two bolts. Nothing complicated about it. 14mm socket is all you need.
