Any battery should do fine, but if you're curious to know, I have an Exide battery (equipped for NASCAR vehicles) in my ES for almost 18 months, and it's doing great.

Cool

I have a Lexus battery in my ES myself.......the dealer replaced it just before I bought the car. So far, so good. I think many members recommend a batter called Optima, but they are quite expensive.

I recommend Die Hard or Duralast (Autozone) batteries. the OEM Toyota/Panasonic batteries that come stock in your vehicle are actually the best. They last much longer.

The yellow top Optima is a good one. If your battery dies, just wait 20 minutes or so and it will recharge itself and crank fine. This is my second one yellow top. I had the first one for over 4 years before one of the six cells died. This one has been going strong for about 2 years now.

get the red top, yellows are reccomended for secondary batteries if you have a large stereo in your car. red tops have more cold cranking amps and are better for daily driving.

That is very true. The Red top Optima is an SLI battery, Starting Lighting and Ignition. However, you dont want to add a second battery because the alternator is the source of the problem. If you see anyone with a battery in their trunk without a beefed up alternator, feel free to laugh at them. Now they have two batteries the stock alternator wont charge.

Just find a battery with a high CCA, I'd go with the Interstate MTP-24F. Costs about 80 bux and has 800 CCA and 1000 CA. If you have a heavy duty stereo and like to play your stereo while engine off then I'd go with an SVR 80-12 which is 150 in stores.

Are you talking about the yellow Optima that recharges itself or you talking about my panasonic (stock) battery?

If you go with the Optima Red Top, get the one with the R in the number. 34R.

This means the poles are reversed so they will line up with your cables and you won't have to lengthen or replace the cables.

(I have always been partial to Die Hard Golds. Had several and never had a problem, ever).

Yes, I was referring to the Deep Cycle Yellow Top series.
