00/01 radio working in 97!
Finally completed my interior upgrade from the 97 wood trim to the factory 01 Coach/Platinum edition wood trim. Until now had everything but the wood faced radio, but last night the repair harness for the 01 radio finally came, I wired up a new harness to plug into my car (No cutting of the car wiring required) and it actually worked! It sounds a little cleaner even, but that could just be me

I think its all in your head, they're the same radio 97-01 with small differences on the look of it. In order to have a cleaner sound you would need to switch to aftermarket amps, speakers, etc.

Nice birdseye It must have taken some effort to search out of all of the parts (window switchplates, steering wheel, climate control, stereo), since the Coach/Platinum were limited run.
Clean install on the HomeLink. Just curious, any reason why you chose the console vs. the sunvisor? From a fellow HomeLink retrofitter (I installed an Infiniti G35/350Z autodimming/HomeLink mirror), I know the module requires an always-hot connection (so that you can open your garage before starting the car ) The Johnson Controls/HomeLink website has complete instructions on programming (I went there a month ago when I was trading my car in and wanted the instructions to clear out my codes prior to handing over the keys).
