98 ES Factory Amp location
Hey guys, I new here, but kinda know what I'm doing when it comes to stereo equipment...........but............I just installed a pioneer deck with the metra kit and wiring harness, but now I'm getting alternator whine. I can hear it even when the car is on ACC and it gets louder when it is actually runnning. I first thought it was a ground loop then after searching through posts on this fourm, and changing the ground a million times, i realized it is probably the factory amp.
3 questions:
1) Do I even have a factory amp in my car (and how would I know this?)
2) Where is it? (a was told that it should be under the passanger seat, but all i see under there are the motors for the seat adjustment)
3) What is the easiest way to bypass it? ( can i disconnect the wires on each side and then reconnect them back in line?) PS- I don't want an aftermarket amp!
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
