I'm getting about 17 mpg on Premium gas driving around town. I'm not too happy about that. I got a '98 ES300 with about 71,000 miles on it.

I get between 430 - 500 miles per tank with Sunoco Ultra 94 gasoline......naturally slightly less in the winter. Is all your maintenance up to date? Tire pressures?

I get an average of 23.0 - 24.5 MPG on my '01 ES. It's my daily driver for my work commute (17 mi each way, state road driving conditions). I just threw in a bottle of Chevron w/ Techron fuel system cleaner the other day since I only did it once last year. And most important of all, I monitor my driving pattern, tires, A/C usage and air filter. All those items play a role to your gas mileage

Nope, I mean miles....not KM's. When I went on my honey moon to Florida in May....with not A/C or heat, I got close to 480 miles (had a full tank completely full tank when I left Toronto & didn't have to tank up again till right before Cincinatti). and I could have still gone a bit more.....but my fuel light did come on so I tanked up. Did the speed limit & drove at a consistant speed I couldn't believe it myself.......that's my story & I'm sticking to it. Don't forget, I use Sunoco Ultra 94 gasoline which made a difference too & I had a bottle of fuel system cleaner going throught he system & that trip couldn't have been more flat. My gas mileage decreased somewhat once I started to hit the mountains in Kentucky & Tennesee.

Default gas mileage

I get about 17 MPG in my 1996 ES300. Not great--plus the gas tank is too small so I am constantly filling it up!

How big is the gas tank on a 96 ES? I've got a 18.5 gallon tank on my 01.

23-24 mpg in town and stop and go.
28-31 mpg on straight out highway (55-75 mph).
