Thank you guys (and Jill) for the compliments. My brother, who has a lowered '03 Altima on rims, told me the ES looks great without the lowered suspension, and having been spoiled for many years by the distinctive nature of the Lexus "ride", I can't sacrifice it for a lowered stance and lesser body roll. I want my car to last a long time; I just passed the 94K mark the other day. IMO this wheel mod/upgrade revives the look of my '01 ES without changing factory specs, and I like that!

For what you are trying to achieve, I don't think a drop is needed either. You stayed with the same 16s and with all that rubber (sidewall), it does not look aggressive enough to warrant a drop. Since you seem happy with the ride/handlig balance you currently have, I'd say keep it where it is too. If you went with 18s, then I'd have to alter my opinion.

Nice job. I always enjoy reading about people who mod to their realistic expectations of their cars.

The ES looks AWESOME Doug!! Home run my friend! I, 110% agree as well......keep the suspension stock. But you have given me an idea to perhaps consider some kind of switch myself down the road on factory Lexus rim's! Excellent choice!

Yup, I agree the car looks great w/Lexus stock wheels.........besides, you know the quality is top notch as opposed to some aftermarket wheels.

I think the '02+ ES wheels actually look better on your '01 than on the '02+!!
You can't go wrong by staying OEM.

nice upgrade. I've thought about swapping various makes of OEM lexus rims with different models before but its good to see what it would actually look like. I posted this picture in the gallery a while ago of the 2nd gen ES with Platinum series/Avalon rims. If I had a 2nd gen ES I would have done this.

I've seen that Lexus advertisement before in this forum, and I gotta agree with you. Isn't it amazing that the possibilities are endless?

Thanks again to everyone for the props. I actually find myself looking back at my car every time I park and leave more often than before

Wait a second...are you trying to say the two ES's in that picture are 2nd generation ES300's?

Those are 1st generation unless you are adding the ES250 to your equation.

Thanks,
badams

Nevermind, I've always been told that the 92 to 96 was the 1st gen ES, after reading through some posts I guess the ES250 is considered the 1st gen. Blech!

I guess my signature is all wrong.

The ES250 is icky. I don't even consider the ES250 a Lexus, like the Porsche 914 isn't a Porsche.

I'm surprised no one has ever said anything about my signature being wrong before?

My appologizes.
