Default ES300 Seat Belt

Replaced the seat belt for my daughter's "new" car ('97 with 169K mis.). It was actually quite simple after all. Need a 10mm socket and 14mm. forget the special torx issue.

Carefully remove the interior trim pieces and the mechanism has three bolts holding it in place. The over the shoulder connection is also easy to remove. Do NOT over torque the 10mm bolts (like I did). I had to fix my mistake by purchasing a new one at the dealer (~$2). Backed out the broken piece and replaced it. Works like new again!

MASH835 recently did an install for a tire pressure monitor system in a 2001 ES300. This will most likely apply to all 3-gen ES (1997-2001).

Actually, I replaced mine today with some LED replacement bulbs. It was a little bit hard but if you are careful you can pull them out with a pair of pliers.

I used a pair of needle nose channel locks but I think I could have done it with pliers. They pull right out. Needle nose with some surgical tubing would be a good idea. BUt I just closed my eyes, and pulled. Didn't want to get any glass in there in case they broke.

I would be easier if you can take the gray light holder out. The is one clip that holds it in to the door panel and it pops right out and back in without having to pull the door panel off.

Good luck. remember close eyes and pull.

^ So far no one has successfully cleared those tailights but you could be the first and follow the same baking method as for the headlights. I recommend having a spare set of tailights in case you mess up.

Default 2005 es330 trans and paint issues

just purchased a 2005 es330 blue shale mica...love the car except for two things..the trans shift points are not the same all the time..rpms "raise"excessively between shifts..i read the post regarding the tsb#tc004-03..will this fix my problem?..now the paint, the bumpers look a different shade..is this common with the blue shale mica..the difference is quite obvious at certain angles... i didnt see it when i purchased the car...the bumpers were sprayed as part of the "certified" appearance maintenance..does anyone out there have the same problem,if so, is this normal?

^ Regarding the transmission, inform yourself in this specific tranny thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-1st-to-4th-gen-1990-2006/87068-02-05-es-transmission-fix.html) for the '02-'05 ES. That's a whole another topic to be discussed. Regarding the paint mismatch on the bumpers, it sounds to me that your car was involved in a previous accident and that the body shop did not employ a correct match of the body paint on the bumper. This happens all too often when buying used cars from dealers or private owners since the Carfax report does not always show signs of accident history.

Remember guys/gals, please keep this thread on topic (i.e. post up DIY-related threads or posts for the ES300/330).

Default How to by pass 97-01 ES300 stock amplifier

ok so according to the wiring diagram for the 3rd gen ES300. Here's the speaker wires.

Cut just the wires in the diagram (i.e. don't cut the non-speaker wires as some of them are ground and power cables that connects to relays, etc) and plug the harness back into the amp (very important that you plug the harness back into the amp). If you accidentally cut the wrong wire reconnect them either with a soldering gun or butt connector. If you use a soldering gun I'm sure you know to tape them up with electrical tape or use plastic shrink tubes.

Connect the wires that are detached from the harness accordingly to your speaker wires from your head unit i.e. Right rear cables to right rear speaker cables from head unit, etc.
