Hello I have a 1999 Lexus ES 300 bought used and my mechanic told me to get undercoating. He does not do it so where do I go besides the dealer, who I know is going to charge me a premium.

Rustproofing placs like Ziebart and Rusty Jones may still do a separate undercoating, but I disagree with your mechanic....and so does Consumer Reports. Their tests of various undercoats showed no conclusive evidence that they really helped that much in rust prevention. The chief benefit of undercoating is noise control...it adds another layer of sound insulation under the floor and in the wheel wells.
The best prevention of underbelly rust is to keep off salted roads as much as possible, or if you must drive on them, flush the bottom of the car off throughly as soon as possible with a hose, getting in ALL the cracks and ledges.
