For the '93 ES, look into the Eibach Pro-kit spring kit. Designed to drop the ES 1" all around, high performance handling, and provides excellent ride quality. Check it out

I will also vouch eibachs. BUT if you want to maintain ride quality, I would suggest going with Tokico struts. The oem struts will not work well with the spring rate and extra stress causing premature failure.

Thanks for the quick responce. I was thinking of cutting off a coil from the stock springs to drop the car a little. I know this isn't the best practice, but I don't autocross this car(that's what my z3 is for ), so I just want a softer ride. The thing I dont know is which coils are stiffer, or more progressive, from the bottom of the spring? or from the top? I would like to leave those so I won't bottom out. Like I said this would only be the loos of one coil. In the rear it doesn't matter since when the car sitslevel, a couple coils are on top of each other(dead coils) but I can't see that far up into the wheel well up front to see if there are any dead oils there. What do you guys think ?

Don't cut the coil, that's the biggest no no. You will only make your ride worse by being bouncy. It won't soften the ride at all. The Eibachs are progressive wound. You will not sacrifice ride quality.

But even with the eibachs, if it's 1 inch drop all around, I will still want the front sropped a little lower than the rear to make the wheel gaps equal.

Then you need airbags. You can't have ride quality and at the same time the drop you want. You have to give up one for the other. Can't have both.

He wanted a like stock or softer ride. Coilovers will just make his ride worse in terms of stiffness. Opposite of what he wants.

Yea, but he said he wants equal ride height also... So either one, just like you said.

Has anyone put airbags on a es300 ? Is there a kit for it ? Anyone know what this runs in term of cost ?

Thanks

Airbags are fairly inexpensive. There isn't a specific kit out there but there are many shops that can do a setup for you. Keep in mind that the ride will not be as good as stock. it will be bouncy.

Well I just ordered some eibach springs. I figure this is probably the best way to go. I was going to cut the stock springs but this just seemed like too much work getting the struts in and out while not doing something that will make a worth while improvement in some way.

Here are some pics of the new Eibach springs in the front, stock ones in the rear. The car looks to be level. If I put the Eibach springs in the back now I think it'll look funny. What do you guys think ?
