Turbo 98+ GS300 1/4 mile times
Does anyone have any 1/4 mile times for a turbo 98+ gs300. I am looking into getting a turbo and was curious how fast it would be running to see if it wil be worth the money. Thanks.

Maybe he can answer this question for you.

With turbo installed only (no TC), I ran a best of 14.1 in 1/4 with traction problems during the pass. I'm thinkin' w/ a good launch & minimal traction issues, a high 13 is within reason.
On the higway, the car felt very strong, of course you are pretty much in boost from the moment you apply throttle & exit the vacuum state.

Marken, when are you going to tell and let us see more of your Turbo GS?

I guess I'm going overboard with the GS as a whole. Just want to put forth an effort that will have everyone very appreciative & understanding as to why I've been pacing myself for about 8 or 9 months now.

I'm hoping to throw down no more than $6K for the whole turbo setup, but I think that's just a pipe dream. Maybe I can find someone willing to sell me their old turbo setup when they change cars. That would be great.

I don't understand. The 400/430 has a 1/4 mile time in the low 14's right? Why would a turbo gs300 get only about the same times? It's lighter and I'm guess around 300-350whp right? Is it a question of torque?

The difference in weight between stock 400/430 and 300 isn't much...probably around 60-70lbs. I'm not sure under what conditions Marken got his numbers, i.e. track conditons and the state of his car. He mentioned he didn't have a TC or an LSD...so traction must have been a pretty big problem. Also, he probabaly had his 19s on which would have adversely affected performance. Lastly, I had an opportunity to ride in Marken's car when he had the Stg II turbo in it and after the ride, when I drove my bone stock GS4, it really felt like a dog compared to his car. There is no way that Marken's car is as slow (not that the 400/430 are slow) as a stock 400/430. There is a big difference in power.
hey Marken, you know I'll be coming back for another ride when the beast is ready
