Default First time at the drag strip with my 08 IS350

I went to the track last night for the first time with my 2008 IS350. I did not remove the spare tire and jack and had a 1/4 tank of gas. My first run was my best. I staged and floored it and It ran a 13.42 at 103.12 with a 1.98 60ft. On the second run I tried to leave at 1500 rpm and it spun out of the hole but still ran a 13.55 at 102.73 with a 2.07 60ft. I am very happy with these results. Now I want to go faster. Time for a intake and exhaust. Any one have an idea of what these mods are worth in the quarter mile.

A lot of the members here have either a JoeZ intake or the fujita intake...the fujita claims a gain of 11hp? on the 350 so i'm guessing thats your best bet..
as for exhaust, most have either tanube or HKS and i'd personally would go for the tanube because theres been so much positive feedback about it

should get mazzuri super headers... probably get the most whp out of those than any other mod besides forced induction....

Hey good first time run! It's so easy to get good times with a stock IS350 huh? I just hit the gas and away it goes. I think my IS350 being just a "premium" has softer rear suspension so it squats a touch more, is a touch lighter, and the rear wheels were running only 3/32" tread so that's how I got my times.

Nice times! By the way, you went to a drag strip, not a track. Race tracks have curves.

good runs... I would like to run my car at the track w/ everything on too so I know what it's capable of doing on a everyday basis... Then the speed would get to me and off goes the spare tire, jack, floor mats, engine cover, manual, cargo net w/ all my cleaning supplies etc...

Congrats on having the Quickest stock IS350 ToothDoc. I just posted on Dragtimes and realized that my 13.42 makes my car the 3rd quickest. How cool is that?
my car is a special order premium with nav. It only has 2500 miles. it also has G-Spider wheels that are heavier than the stock rims (rotational mass). I hope to get back to the "Dragstrip" next week and try to do a little better.

I think I am going to try a JoeZ and Tanabe. I like the JoeZ because it keeps the stock air box (cool air) and is not so loud. Thanks for the helpful info.

You mean 3rd quickest stock IS350?

I think you'll find that it will be very hard to beat that time without doing any mods. My car is still stock but I'm thinking about some lightweight wheels and the F-sport intake when it finally comes out.

Yes, I meant the 3rd fastest stock IS350 Oblivionis. I took a look at your posts of your runs. You are a solid # 2. Nice kills on the BMW's.
Next week I will lay off the Twinkies (I tip the scales at around 220) and remove my spare and jack. And try to go a little quicker.

I'm curious to see by how much your times change when you remove the spare and jack.
