I'm back! The wind was even worse than predicted, but it was more of a cross wind than a head wind. I don't really know how much the wind effected my times, but it was VERY hard keeping the car in a straight line. The hood was also bobbling up and down like it was unlatched or something.
Anyway, my best run was my first run (again) at 13.094 @ 105.43. The tires helped out a LOT, but if they slipped even a little bit, then spun like crazy. It was kind of an all or nothin' thing.
60' - 1.968
1/8 - 8.422
MPH - 84.03
1/4 - 13.094
MPH - 105.43
I got several other times in the 13.1's and 13.2's. I don't really know why I couldn't repeat my 1st run. There were hardly any cars there, so I did 6 runs in 45 minutes and left.

This is very impressive Gernby - I can appreciate your thorough and methodical approach to every 'mod' you've made (along with the many other contributors like caymandive, combfilter, lobuxracer).
Congratualtions, this looks great on www.dragtimes.com!

Even the 335i's haven't obtained a better ET than the IS350 so far. (Including shiv's stage 1 package) hehe http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--335i-Drag-Racing.html

My launches were pretty inconsistent since I had a hard time watching my tachometer and the tree at the same time. I would just push the brake extra hard when the 2nd yellow illuminated, increase the throttle by "some amount", and when the last yellow light illuminates, I would lift off the brake and floor it. Sometimes I would get a great launch with zero spin, and other times I would spin all the way up to redline without really even moving. That is where I think drag radials would have been better.

Hey, congrats on upping the notch one more... Too bad I'd never can compete with you. We're like 700-800 feet high and the track I run at "Da Grove" seems to be a slow track. Fastest I could muster is only 13.87. I'll try again this spring/summer. Maybe I'll look for a light 16 inch rim and get some drag radials that will drop my ratio about 10%. BTW, at what point will the VDIM start registering that there is too much wheel slip/etc. between front and rear?

this is how I do it, I get to the tree and make sure both light is on. Then my left foot on the brake and right foot give it some gas. Once it got the the rpm that I wanted, I hold the gas there and watch the tree. It takes some practice but it's pretty easy.

I've considered that, but the longer you torque brake, the more you heat up the tranny fluid. Lobuxracer cited a Lexus document that mentioned 5 seconds being the maximum safe amount of time to do it. I may be misquoting, but I remember the 5 second thing. That may sound like a lot of time, but the tree starts counting really quickly after both cars are lined up, and very slowly if the other car isn't lined up yet. If the other guy takes 15 seconds to get lined up, I really don't want to be sitting there burning up my torque converter.
