8.80 1/8th mile today (stock is350)
Not too shabby for a stock is350. I had just under a half tank of gas. No weight reduction. javylsu was running out there in the 8.8's also with his A/C on hehehe (he races in comfort).
I am actually now pretty impressed by the IS350's speed. Javylsu and I watched as corvettes and mustangs were running in the mid 9's. Pretty sad when a 306hp lexus is running basically faster then anything out there (except cars that came pulled in by trailers). My buddy said that after we left he saw and evo run 8.2, but hey that's an evo.
I hope to make it in the 8.70's next weekend. It was 75 degrees today and we did have a slight tail wind which helped. I will try next time with a 1/4 tank of gas and maybe remove the spare, and jack.
I had traction control off, and vsc off. I basically would rev it to about 2500 and then hold it there till the lights went. 2500rpm seemed to be the sweet spot. When I took it to 3000rpm it would spin the tires a little.
I am hoping that once i get around 5000 miles my car will run as fast as tt061880's 1/4 mile run. That's smoking for a stock IS.

very nice times, I believe that translate into 13.5 and you run with full interior and the weather isn't cold either. I'm very impress with your 60', so basically you brake torque the car at 2500 rpm?
OFF TOPIC: tell javylsu to turn off the AC while he's at the strip, AC dump water onto the track which can be very dangerous for the next racer, just my 2cents.

Lets see, I also don't do any burn outs in the water or anything like that either. That is just for people with slicks it seems like.
According to most sites an 8.80 = around 13.7 in 1/4. That's why I was super impressed with your 13.4. We mostly have 1/8th tracks around here, but there is the crazy nice 1/4 track in ennis, tx. I might try to hit that this winter.

yea, I basically do like a power jack on the gas and brake, but without spinning the rear wheels like you would in a real power jack. So, I move up to the light, once my wheels are set (both lights are on) I then bring my left foot over and press the brake really firm. Then put my right foot on the gas and get the rpms up to 2500. Then I just let off the brake as soon as the lights hit. Gets a real good pull.
Lets see, I also don't do any burn outs in the water or anything like that either. That is just for people with slicks it seems like.

Haha, I kinda forgot to turn off my A/C when I lined up - I was so nervous, that it completely slipped my mind. Remember the first time you ever teed off for a round of golf? It was a lot like that... The rest of the runs I did with my A/C off, though. As I said, it was my first trip to the track, and I had LOADS of fun, I'll definitely be going back. It took me a while to learn how to launch properly and get a decent R/T. Next time I'll do some weight reduction - I'm gonna try to take out everything that's not bolted down (and some stuff that is ). And comb is right - my brother and I were laughing that our IS's were beating all these heavily modified dragster Mustangs. There were a couple of Corvettes that were running truly embarrassing times... One was an '05 running in the low 10's, and a '94 or '95 running 10.5's... Hell, my brother was running 10.8's in his stock Nissan Sentra SE-R!!!
