Well...this can be easily fixed by purchasing a second body.

As for the small camera thing, I guess it's knowing that this shot can be so much better with "my other camera" sort of kills the small sensor cameras for me. But if the small camera was my only camera, I'd be fine with that too. I've produced some shots that I thought were quite decent with the OM-D, but since it wasn't getting quite enough action as I previously predicted it would, I wasn't all that keen in letting it sit there losing value....so back to the market it went.

but like kaydee says, if you're on a great site seeing trip (or even family ) and want memories to keep, the extra iso headroom, extra dynamic range, better color, easier short dof, makes taking a dslr for me, a no brainer. maybe one day some amazing feat of physics and tech will make small cameras better.
That is exactly why the SLR wins out. As well quick focus with selectable focus zone and good frame rates. With the G's I have to pre-focus then compose, the "intelligent" focus isn't always where I want it to be and on certain subjects there isn't that time latitude to hope for when shooting.

As for the "look what I got". Picked up a RRS QR clamp. I messed up the Kirk while milling the bottom slot out. The cross vise wasn't snugged up and I managed to move the X-Y handle during an adjustment. When I went to machine the slot, the Kirk clamp shifted and the X position was off. Result bungled slot. There went $60. Happens, can be saved but I wasn't in the mood to mess with the machines so the RRS was picked up earlier in the week. (I just love stopping into their showroom. )

RRS clamp on left, Kirk on right. I prefer the size of the Kirk clamp so once I feel motivated I'll work on the Kirk clamp.

Nice choice, I like Gitzo tripods. Enjoy

I've been using a G2220 for a spell. Been a very nice tripod that I'm still pleased with. The past week, I put it into the shore break and the sand is an issue to deal with when cleaning. That applies to many of the twist collar leg locks on other brands as well. Only flip locks are easier but these have their own pro's-con's.

Thanks, haven't really put it to the test yet, but I'm liking it so far. Very light and sturdy.

Yep, I'm on vacation right now in the Philippines. Actually mine's full. It's heavy but it doesn't bother me.

I bought a Canon EF 100mm f2.8L IS Macro USM. Just now, I thought of selling my Canon EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM. Anyone interested?

Yay, a big fan of the 100mm 2.8L lens! Share some shots.

Looks like the body is in good shape. How many actuations? The Nikon D and Canon 1 series are challenging to find that don't look like the body has been into war zones.

Yep this one is in relatively good shape. Owner definitely has taken care of it. No gunk visible when looking thru the viewfinder...unlike my D600 haha.

This one stands at 59K shutter so honestly that's not a problem for me. Break in period really. My D600 is already at 60K at least.

There's a lot to chose from here...I'm even seeing D4's that are within grasp, but decided against it largely because of the XQD. I got this because it's been a camera I've always wanted since I knew anything about photography, and because I love Nikons, but honestly I'm not loving where they are going with with the product lineup in the next 4 years at least...Nikon currently has 5 full frame cameras, and not one of them interests me.

but yeah back to this...still have my D600, sold the 16-35 and the 24-120. Still learning the metering of the camera, but the files are damn amazing. At 10000 iso, this blows the D600 at 4000 iso. I'm drooling at the possibilities.
