The RXh doesn't have those noises? My ESh has the same brake click and a faint whining/ringing noise from the traction motor when coasting from 60 km/h down to 20 km/h. The motors make a moaning sound when coasting at low speed or braking. The rest of the car is very quiet so it's easier to pick up these sounds.

I just bought a 2016 ct200h and started to hear this sound when the car is in an incline and using its battery:
I brought it to Lexus dealer and they said it's the noise generator (safety protocol to warn other people - example: blind person). They told me that I could not lower the volume either. Has anyone seen this feature?

For educational purposes only, you can disable it by simply unplugging it. It's a blue circular thing behind the front grill. To access it, you'd have to undo the top plastic tray and undo the bumper a little bit (just the top two corner tabs) to access the 10mm bolt that holds it.

I really want to retrofit the Mirai noise generator on the CT. sounds so cool. like an alien spaceship. So I dug around and see what I could come up with

Yep. All toyota/lexus hybrids make the identical noise (except the Mirai)

thats so people hear the car and don't get hit by it while driving in EV mode.

I always wondered if my CT200h and RX450h had some alien power plant under the hood!!! Now I KNOW FOR SURE!!! LOL

You guys should hear the Mirai. It's REALLY trippy. you'd think aliens just landed. the prius/ct200h/remainder of the lexus hybrids sounds pathetic. I've been looking to experiment with other car brands noisemakers. i really want to wire it up to the CT and see what happens.. not sure how it works or if it works on completely different software etc. Nobody's done it that i know of. I just don't feel like dropping a bunch of money on a part for it not to work then have to toss it in the trash cause there's no market for those things lol
