Default Painted grill surrounds 2014 ct200h F sport!

Hey guys, was pretty bored over the weekend and tried something I haven't seen on a 14 yet. Maybe haven't seen it because it may be ugly? Whatever it is, it turned out great and I love it!!

Stock just for reference:

And the taping begins with 1st coat.

Total, I put about 4 coats for both top and bottom, and it turned out nice and smooth!

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Brendon

btw I used plasti dip in case anyone was wondering.

Looks good, do you have a shot from further back?

I think plastidip says you should do at least 6 coats for it to be easier to peel off (if you ever do peel).

I also dipped the same trim, but got over the matte texture pretty quick. I even used the "glossifier" they make, but it didn't help that much and wore off quick anyway. If I were to do it again I would vinyl or permanently spray it gloss black.

This guy sells a black version, but I assume he just buys an OEM part and does the spraying himself.

geez 300$ for just the top part.... that sucks!! I normally put around 3-4 coats and on my beamer it stayed on quite nicely for the time i've had it. Guess we'll have to see how long this will last.

What sucks is the grill and the fog area is slightly charcoal, so if you look CLOSELY the color doesn't match perfectly, but then again I don't wanna deal with painting that grill and later if I don't like it it will be a biatch to remove... can't even imagine.

I don't like plasti-dip at all, with that being said, it looks good on your CT! When I get my CT, I'm going to want to do that too. It looks more aggressive.

Looks real good especially since your CT is white. Keep up the good work...

Looks almost like a special edition F Sport, with blacked out trim. Wonder if blacked out mirrors with that would be too much...

The black looks so much better than the chrome! If I had the new front, I'd do this in a heartbeat. I'd prefer vinyl, but the dip looks like it turned out well.
