Default What services do you actually get done?

I never was one for getting every service recommended by a dealer because so many of them are wastes of time, for me as long as I changed my oil, air filter, fuel filter, coolant, and transmission fluid everything was fine. Brakes, yes, but that wasn't very often, and spark plugs every 100,000 miles. It was too, last car made it almost to 300,000 miles (291,000 before I moved on). I never took it anywhere to check fluid levels or stuff like that.

But with this car being a hybrid, what needs to be done? Is it the same? What services are actually worth my time?

the great thing is that it is very low maintenance..
typically things aren't 'used' as much as other cars for the same amount of mileage/

maintenance is pretty much the same as any other car.
brakes less often

Just recently passed the 30k mile mark. Only thing I had the dealer do was the brake fluid change.

The oil and cabin/air filter changes were quicker/easier than any other car I've owned.

I do every single one of recommended service at my dealer for all my cars, history has taught me and proven all of the past vehicles are problem free up to 100k mi

I'm pretty close with my adviser, on maintenance that doesn't really change anything, he just "took care" of it, best part of it is, I get to drive any of the new loaner cars over the weekend

I've had the dealer change my brake fluid and transmission fluid. I also had the dealer changed my rear shocks since it was leaking at 70K miles.

I change the oil and oil filter myself every 5K miles with Castrol Edge 0W-20. As for the air filter I switched to a K&N and just wash and oil it every 30K miles. I've also changed out the cabin air filter and the front and rear wiper blades myself. I've also replaced all four tires with Michelin Premier A/S tires which I purchased from Tire Rack.com.

Very glad our CT's don't have a serpentine belt at all. Since we don't have a timing belt there's no need to replace the timing chain as often as a timing belt.

I'll replace the spark plugs, pcv valve and brake pads at 100K miles.

hi, sorry to revive this outdated thread

new owner of a new 2013 ct200h, got it in feb 2014, and just had my second and last complimentary service at the lexus dealership last week so from now on i have to pay out of my own pocket in 6 months and beyond

i am no car expert or do-it-yourself type of guy so i dont think i will do any maintenance stuff on my own, so i will probably take it to some independent mechanic to do it to save on maintenance costs.

i was just wondering....as long as i do an oil and filter change every half year, a cabin filter change every year, and other parts change/replacements (filters/coolants/fluids etc) when the time comes, my car should be in good shape and will not affect the warranty right? do i actually need to do any of their "maintenace service" from the dealers at all? i doubt other places can do oil changes a whole lot cheaper than the dealership, but the cost of their "maintenance service" bothers me a bit

currently the ODO is less than 7000km (or 4500-ish miles) after half a year of use so i cant say i drive it alot per se, so i am wondering how "low maintenance" the CT can get

thanks in advance
