Here's the question...have you driven a new Mazda 3 Hatchback with all the options?

I personally find Mazda's offensively ugly to look at, and the fact that every other one you see around is rusting like crazy doesn't help their looks.

I don't want to or have the need to drive a new Mazda 3 hatchback. I'm perfectly very happy with my CT 200h with every single option.

You have a point...but keep in mind the redesign didn't happen until 2013. The current model is definitely appealing, however the CT was not intended for me.

To cut the story short, in 2012 my wife and I agreed to buy each OTHER a car, using a formula that cannot exceed a figure based on our individual incomes. Rules are it cannot be used, nor can it be leased, nor can you borrow money to acquire it.

Needless to say I received a factory ordered Mercedes with suspension upgrades that you cannot get stateside unless you specify it at the time of order (which was another 8 month wait). Having gotten every bit of option I wanted in the Merc, I couldn't for the life of me hand her keys to a Prius in the end.

Luckily for me, after showing her the CT, every other car from then on was "too big". So that was a big win for me!

P.S.
Yes...she is much more successful than I. But over the years, I've grown to live with it.

Then you can't discuss how it compares to your CT or anything else. Having driven both I can tell you the Mazda 3 is a great car. It's a cheap car that doesn't feel cheap at all. Very impressive. Very comparable to the CT, nothing the CT has that it doesn't have (and do better IMHO) other than the hybrid drivetrain, which you either want or don't (I'm not a hybrid guy)

BinaryJay, I don't see rusting Mazdas here. Obviously you have more issues with rust up there.

My cousin has an 09 Mazda 3 with 110k and I have a coworker with an 09 with about that same mileage and both have aged very well and have been very reliable. Mazdas are very underrated IMHO.

Mazda makes great cars no doubt, however I prefer the Lexus overall, service, reliability, etc...

It appears you dislike the CT and I'm curious why you post in this thread or this sub-forum for that matter.

I posted in this thread because of the topic. I don't post in the forum in general.

Seems like the thread no longer serves the topic... bottom line is no, I should not switch from a GS to a CT. Thanks everyone... carry on. =)
