try to do a search. I know someone bought and actually installed it by themselves.

it seems like a lot of work.. you might also want to call up some dealers and get a quote on how much to get the part installed only, and also the price for buying the part as well as installation.

let us know what you find!

Just showed this to my buddy at his shop and he said, it's very easy everything is plug and play. just a lot of removing panels. I'll post up some progress pics. when it comes in.

awesome!
What about programming it?
supposedly you need some software (probably something you can download,) as well as a special cable (I recall it was under $50)

I heard the range sucks on it. I got the viper remote start on mine. Can start it from my phone anywhere. I will say the only down side is, the car shuts off when you open the door. I believe it's a safety feature incase someone tried to steal it.

We bought the module online and put it into the car ourselves, was pretty easy, just had to program it. We have the app as well, so we can start our car or roll down windows from anywhere there is a cell signal.

The car however will keep sending you texts that the car is started and no key is present.

i also found it very odd that the car shuts off when you open the door. i have had factory remote start systems on other vehicles before and none of them did that.

My wife's Camry Hybrid has the remote start, and it also will shut off when the door is opened. Other cars I've had would shut off when it was moved out of "P" or if the E-brake was released without the key present. Those made it much more useful to use the remote start.
