LED Headlight Upgrade
Hey guys, new member, and also total newb with respect to LED headlights.
I just installed a 6000K HID kit and had to get relays to get them to power on. I'm pleased with the upgrade but I was poking around online and found this:
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/High-Power-...headlights.htm
Anyone have any feedback on that kit? How does it compare? Is that the only part needed? Etc.
I'd consider switching to an LED kit.

really no point to go LED, they are less bright, only thing cool about them is the headlight if they come stock
think i read it somewhere on this forum that LED was rated around 2500 lumens and the HID is around 3200
HID is the way to go

Stock halogen bulbs range from 1200-1400 lumens. Stock LED is in the low 2,000 range. Stock HID is 3200. Aftermarket HID kits range in lumen output depending on their quality. I highly recommend the kits from Morimoto such as their 3five kits. We also have vendors who sell quality kits as well.

i read somewhere, need to look for that link. yes. per bulb basis, HID is more powerful. hence LED bulb setup typically has double bulbs to increase the Lumens.

The biggest factor limiting the performance of LED lighting is heat. LEDs are very efficient however, they put off a ship ton of heat. Heatsink technology is huge. If they can figure out a cost effective way to manage the heat, LED lighting will become better and replace HID.
