Any consensus about solid HID kit?
Hi Guys
Even with a relay, I am getting misfires on one headlight.
I am getting tired of dealing with this cheap kensun kit, and am hoping for a better solution.
Is there any sort of consensus on what is a solid HID kit to buy?
I am looking to buy one and install it before the winter.
Also, I see that places sell relays, error cancellers, canbus bypass devices etc..
Would any of these help with my situation?
Thanks

Morimoto 3five all day day. I don't deal with cheap kits anymore. eff that noise. Too much headache for them to be worth it.
That's if I'm going for just a kit. Otherwise I go retro. All OEM goodness...

Morimoto is one of the best ones from what I've seen. A lot of my friends have had good luck with DDM Tuning's kits. I've had bad luck with other cheap brands though.
If you end up going with a cheaper kit like DDM's, I would recommend buying two kits in case a bulb blows out on you. That way you can send back the defective bulb/ballast and have a back up kit to use until a replacement comes in.

That's exactly why I don't bother with buying cheap kits anymore. I much rather prefer to spend the extra money for quality and also to do things right the first time. Gambling on cheap parts is like going to Vegas and expecting to win. ie; 1 of my DDM kits caught on fire. They're bulbs usually die pretty fast.
OP, if ur tired of cheap kits like I am, go Morimoto. TRS has sales once in a while and u can get a nice discount.

Yep, I am totally sick and tired of garbage cheap kits. I have no problem paying more for a better kit.
The only reason I even bought the garbage kensun is because there was a bit of a consensus that they misfired the least on our cars.
When buying, am I correct in assuming we need H11B for our cars?
And for wire harness type, do I choose Heavy Duty Relay or Standaline Can-Bus?

Get the HDR. The Can-Bus is mostly for Euro cars.
However, many camry/ct200h hid's have been setup w/o the relay harness. No issues so far on my setup w/o a harness.
Good luck with your kit!

Go with Morimoto 3five unless it's completely out of your budget!
H11B bulbs, Heavy Duty Relay and whatever color temperature you like.
We also have vendors on CL that sell kits!

I'm also from Ontario!
I say stay far away from DDM and Kensun.
Those kits are super cheap. From connectors, to bulbs and ballasts.

any tips?

You don't need the heavy duty relay for hybrids. Most people don't even know how to install the relay on a hybrid!
Just get the Morimoto 3five H11B kit which includes bulbs and ballast.
