It appears thats what needs to be done by the time I finished the one mod it was already getting dark so I said Ill wait til another day.
I tried taking the piece out....but after half an hour I said screw it. Film was just applied very carefully to a clean surface and detail to tucking the vinyl well.

since this thread has been made already!

used white plastidip plus glossifier. took me 10+ coats with the white! very hard to get it on. they actually recommend priming with a gun metal grey plastidip and then put the white over that.

you can see some jagged lines up top. unfortunately the plastidip between the grille surround and the rubber right up top (between the hood and grille surround) bonded, so when i went to remove the plastidip, it didn't give me a smooth cut.. : S

i really want to re-do it, but this first attempt took me so long. if anyone has any advice or tips on how to avoid that rubber, please let me know.

also used black plastidip for the back emblem

^^^^^^^^ Looks about the same as my first try with dipping the grill a while ago. If you re-do it, i'd use a hobby knife along the top of the piece to make a cleaner cut.

But honestly IMO, having done both plastidip and wrap, go with wrapping it. Plastidip looks cheap in comparison.
If not yourself, then it shouldn't be more than $35 done professionally.
