Exclamation Need some coilover recommendations!

Looking into dumping my f-sport springs and getting some coils to close the remaining fender gap.

What do you guys recommend in the $1000 range? What's the best bet for fitment/build quality?

Thanks for the recommendations.

The most typical brands i see bought for the CT are Megan Racing, BC, and Tanabe. I went with Tanabe due to it being made in japan (JDM FTW), the rest are... questionable. BC is like a chinese rip off (s'ok for me to say this cuz i'm chinese lol) and i'm pretty sure megan racing had its roots from ebay selling. They're all around the same price ~900 average. I might get flamed for my bashin' on those 2 brands but, so be it.

I've had 0 issues with my Tanabes. It's a super comfortable ride. I've riding on them since May.

1 physical difference i've noticed is that the Tanabes don't come with top hats for the 2 front struts. However the Megan and BC do. That'll help with installation. No need for spring compression lol

If you want to get extra baller mode, Cusco and TOMS makes a coilovers set for the car lol.

Here are a few pics of my lowered CT, i'm sure you've seen before (I know it looks a bit sunken but spacers will be installed this week. Wheel specs are 17x7 +38, Work CR Ultimates in matte bronze. I'm lowered like 1.25 inches. I can't go lower due to huge speed bumps at work and i prefer to be a bit more functional than most)

And here are a few extra shots. http://imgur.com/a/laKUj

My finger gap is about 2 fingers for the front and rear.

Look really good, man. I definitely hear you on the made in Japan aspect. Japanese reliability for the win.

Top hats aren't necessary for installation, are they?

yea u need the tophats. the megan and BC ones call all pre-assembled. the tanabes use the stock top hats. that was a bit of a pain to install... lol good thing we had some spring compressors.

Gotcha. And you're using the Sustec Pro SO-C, correct?

S-0C to be exact - http://www.tanabe-usa.com/s0c.asp?id=6

let me know if you want to order anything. i worked with a salesman over @ vividracing.com and i ordered my body kit, coilovers, wheels, wheel spacers, and lug nuts thru him. he is legit. worked to get good pricing with me. i can refer him to you if you are interested. even if you choose another brand other than tanabe, i'm sure he can help. but my 2 cents, tanabe. Matt_RN from the other CT forums did testing for tanabe also and he very much liked the coilovers as well.
