Default Question for owners of canvasback or trunk liner

Hi guys,

I'm sewing up my own liner for the trunk area and I had a question for those that own one.

Does your liner cover the entire carpeted area when the seats are folded down? I wondered if the seats would still latch in the closed position if there was extra material sandwiched between the back of the seats and the flare out of the car with the metal latch. If it doesn't latch, I figured the manufacturers would have to cut the liner short of the sides, but I think that would look weird.

Detailed pictures of yours installed would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Peter

i don't have it in the CT, but i do own the canvasback liner for our GL450. it's a beautiful fit and, looking at their website, it works just like it would in the CT. we only use it for the power folding third row / trunk area. we didn't put it on the sides.

there is some extra "slack" in the material required to accommodate the added length when the seats are down, but it doesn't interfere with the function or latching of the seats at all. and the slack doesn't look too bad when it's folded. it's very neat and not intrusive. what i love about canvasback is that you can have one or both seats down at a time and everything is still protected. you can't accomplish that with typical plastic cargo liners. and the slack is what allows the seats to be up or down without having to take out the liner.

if you don't add that additional slack, it won't be able to fit the full length of the carpeted area, UNLESS you never plan on putting your seats down! we have our 3rd row up and down on a weekly basis so it was a must-have.

Thanks lexuslover. Good info. I'll take the extra slack into account.
