Default Road Hazard???

Well how's this for a bad day. Exiting the highway the right rear wheel ran over something and destroyed my F-Sport wheel and tire.

Went back down the exit ramp and other then a large pointed rock on the edge of the road I saw nothing that would have done this kind of damage. Thought Low profile tires are not very forgiving.

Just hope you got tire and rim insurance. I get it on all my cars, especially those with 18 or 19 inch rims and low riding tires.after owning a '08 Audi TT cab with low riding 19 inch tires, a spring season with the condition of the roads, I replaced three tires and rims, more than enough covering the cost of insurance.

The cost of the insurance was about 1200 for five years.

Yes, luckly I got the insurance. Now the wait for a wheel and tires and to see how big of a hassle it is to get the insurance to pay, if they don't pay the local Toyota deler I went to because the Lexus dealer is 80 miles away. Hopefully will be back on the road early this coming week.

Did the tire get shredded? Did anything else get damaged?

Nope, just a hole straight through the tire and into the wheel. I see some paint and a little gouge at the rear of the wheel well.

Still waiting thought on getting a replacement tire and wheel, 1 week tomorrow. Typical insurance hassle and dealing with another dealership issues.

Wow, at times like this, I wonder how the balloons on steelies from my last car (Yaris) would have fared?

When I had one of the first IS300's back in 2000, I bent all five rims within the first 2 months of ownership (the spare was a full size tire on rim).

Good luck.
