Default Question on F-sport Trident Wheels

Hey all-

Just purchased new 2012 obsidian CT200h Premium fully loaded non-f sport model.

I'm looking to replace the wheels with the f-sport trident but my local dealership is quoting me 1300 + labor for tire swapping seperately...

Can someone help me with couple of questions?

1. Online sales typically go for $199 and I remember someone mentioning Club Lexus price is ~$177. How do I go about getting that price?

2. What happens to TPM sensor? do I/(installer) remove the sensor from the stock rims and put them on the f-sport? do I lose TPM if I get f-sport?

3. Besides wheel locks/lug nuts matching the f-sport wheels and tires, do I need anything else for installation?

4. Finally... does anyone want to buy brand new stock OEM rims? (pristine condition, less than 200 miles on it)

Thanks!

I'd avoid doing this easy install thru the stealership. Buy them online (I'm not sure who sells them for $177 for Club Lexus members, maybe ask Sewall?) http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2012/4571.html Then just find a local REPUTABLE tire shop that can mount & balance them for you...see if you can find a shop that has a Hunter system.

Yes, you should be able to re-use your current TMPS in the F-sport wheels, as you can re-use them in aftermarket wheels easily too. Not sure on items 3 & 4.

You need the f sport wheels, you can get them from sewell as you already know.
sign up with a clublexus userid, for additional discount.

You will also need tuner style lug nuts, I like these ones http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2012/5110.html

I went to a Toyota dealership to swap tires and TPMS from my OEM wheels to the trident wheels, they charged me 109 tax in (here in Canada)

You do not need anything else, well at least i did not.

Good luck selling stock wheels!

One thing I don't understand is why the OEM ones are much more expensively priced than the tridents that are suppose to be more premium/sporty wheels. Anyone have any clue? OEMS seem to have identical size and spec (except for weight.. (Not sure if there is significant difference) Lexus f-sport we page seems to market it as "upgrade" but not sure why that is not reflected in the pricing. Any insight to this would be helpful

I purchased the graphite colored Tridents from Sewell to use them with snow tires. My F Sport came with silvered Trident wheels. I haven't seen a price for silvered Trident wheels. Maybe they cost more than the graphite ones? Auto companies don't always make rational pricing decisions!
I agree it would be nice to know why there is such a difference in price. If I had to pay $500 for winter wheels I would have looked for a third party alternative.

Thanks to Gabriel @ Magnussen's Lexus of Fremont, my CT has new set of rims.

In hindsight, i wish i had gotten silver version of the tridents rather than graphite... The wheels are much darker than I expected (looks too blacked out because of obsidian black + all around tint)..

Thanks Gabriel for all you've done and making it super easy for me- Guys I highly recommend Magnussen Lexus. If you need parts, give him a call- i know i will from now. not only is he easy to work with over the phone, he keeps you updated on the progress via e-mail which is superb. =)

Don't know the names exactly but the ones on my special edition (sway bars, spring lowering kit, Trident wheels included) are bright silver with a slight hint of gray (black) per the picture with chrome lug nuts and wheel locks. I also purchased graphite painted Trident wheels from Sewell Lexus which use black lug nuts and wheel locks. Except for the color the silver and graphite wheels "seem" to be the same. I've also seen the 10-spoke F-Sport graphite wheels. There too many colors, types and F-Sports offered to use a simple description for F-Sport or Trident wheels??????? I'd show a picture of the graphite Trident wheels but they are being stored at my Lexus dealer until winter starts in Buffalo, New York. When I purchased the graphite wheels I did not see any offers for silver ones.
