It's located on the driver's side front corner of the car. you can just disconnect it from the top (below the driver's side headlamp) or unbolt the LF fender liner and remove it completely.

Thanks! I can't wait to become a stealth car!
I'll do it the same time I replace the upper/lower grille and install HIDs

Are you sure this doesn't void some kind of warranty and/or break some kind of law? If this feature is federally mandated for Lexus to install, then my guess is that it is illegal to remove it. I don't have any info to back that up though, just wondering. I have a 2011 so it doesn't affect me one way or the other.

In our litigious society, I'd be afraid that if I had disconnected it and someone walked in front of the car while I was in EV mode, they would own the car and more.

You would need some pretty skinny arms to try to disconnect it from the top.

Does the government have a dept that overlooks hybrid sound. Seriously. DMV won't be looking for it trust me. Plus you could just plug it in , if they ever needed too.

Back to the topic of the thread, another difference that I found is that 2012 model non-nav cars have a nice storage compartment in the middle of the dash with a DC plug inside. The 2011 model doesn't unfortunately.

The 2013 non-nav also does not have the storage compartment. I wonder if it was a cost-saving decision to revert back to a plain dash.

Really! I didn't know that, but find it pretty interesting. Typically car companies add features for new model years, it is pretty rare to see them add one, then take it away again like that. Does make you wonder.
