HID Kit Help
#16
I installed mine including the fogs. It was 106 degrees outside when I did it; hot and sweaty. I will post some pictures later . Even the super white sylvania's look yellow compared to the HIDs; I went with 6000k ( white with blue).

Intermittent Problem
Sometimes the driver's side HID doesn't fire. Turn-off-on and it works. Some others have experienced this phenomena also. Irritating
Yes, I have checkd and rechecked connections ;all tight. Can't believe voltage level is this sensitive.
ARRRGH!

I had the exact same problem too. A few days ago I swapped the ballasts (from drivers side over to passengers side and visa versa) to try to pinpoint if it was a bad ballast or bulb and ever since, it hasn't happened again. I know it sounds weird, but if you have some time, maybe try that first, it can't hurt.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion.

No problem, not sure if you'll get as lucky as I did. Good thing it worked for me, that "email" that DDM was sending me with the return info. I needed that they said they would send me 9 days ago STILL has not arrived...

It's probably a bad ballast.
For reliability reasons I'm probably going to use a Philips or Osram rebased bulb (I don't trust aftermarket bulbs as I've seen several of them explode and many others just plain die).
For the best light output I'm sticking with 4300k. I don't need a blue tint to it.
The Denso ballast is really one of the best but it's really big. I may end up going with a Morimoto 3Five or maybe a complete Oracle kit.

Lexus Fanatic
Just got my DDM 5000K HID slim kit yesterday and installed it today. Wow, what a difference the lighting makes especially at nighttime! Why did Lexus not make the HID even an available option on the CT?
In any case, I'm very happy I spent only $45 plus shipping for the HID kit and 30 minutes of my time installing the kit. I found the toughest part was finding a safe place to mount the ballast and ignitor on both sides. I used 3M double-sided adhesive tape for mounting the parts.
