The LSh and RXh have it too, albeit not sport paddles but a shiftable gate.

Defeats the purpose of 'Entry Level".

thats fine too... maybe they will add it to some sport model in the future and not just JDM models.

you dont have to be driving 200mph to drive fast, on mountain roads, engine braking is required if you want to drive fast even if you are only going 40-50mph.

for highways, who cares.

I did.

It lets your car rev properly up and down the range, providing engine braking which is quite important for the feel when you drive fast.
correct, i've never driven the ct200h with the paddle shifters. but is it a world of difference from the sport mode and/or does it do something the sport mode can't accomplish? the ct200h seems peppy enough in sport mode to accomplish a 45 mph romp through the mountains if you were so inclined...

A fair amount of engine braking can be achieved by shifting to the 'B' mode. It's a noticeable effect in the 45mph range. I have used it in the East Tenn Twisties and it helps alot.

it keeps the engine in the zone for both accelerating and engine braking.... as dennis said, putting it into the B mode will help (as well as Sport mode accelerating) but shifting manually is even better because you have at least 2 different speeds to play with (2nd and 3rd).

So, I'm curious, do all or most other Lexus models have double pane glass (other than the windshield)? I've got an RX and I'm always amazed how much sound the side windows block out.
I'll be a bit bummed if its not the same way when I get my CT. Just curious.

Yeah but by the time you get it up to standards of a normal Lexus with leather, nav, illuminated door sills, memory seats, etc. it's around $38k. That puts it in the range of an RX.

Just because they offer a stripped base model (a new thing for Lexus) doesn't mean the car along with the features you do pay for should not be standard Lexus quality.

Forget soundproof.

I want bulletproof!

I service customers in some seriously dangerous areas!
